Lazarus, a Professional Accountant by profession brings a wealth of experience to Aegon. After completing his training at RSM South Africa INC, he held senior roles within the private sector, and public sector. Lazarus has vast experience in working with municipal authorities. His recent role included providing assistance to Lekwa - Teemane Local Municipality in the preparation of its annual financial statements and to provide audit support. His main role included pre-audit planning, clearing of amounts, creditors’ and debtors’ management, asset register, as well as the actual preparation of financial statements and related notes.
He has assisted Lekwa -Teemane Local Municipality in providing services that are related to the assessment and preparation of the financial statements as well as the streams structure, functioning and utilisation of the relevant information technology. Furthermore overall compliance with accounting policies, budget policies based on legislative guidelines and standards has been assessed in the provision of the above services. He also assisted the Lekwa -Teemane Local Municipality Authority with a multi-year “Clean Audit turnaround strategy” which includes direct support in all aspects of which impacts on the Audit outcome. Lazarus gained extensive experience in auditing, accounting and other advisory services to a broad range of clients across various sectors. These included assignments ranging from audit and assurance in the private sector as well as State-Owned Enterprises.
